Fabric Manipulation

Updated: Mar 13, 2024

Completed for FIBR 170: Textile Structures - Project 1: Planar Construction

For this project, we were given broad prompts & accompanied by varying demos including that of 3D construction, smocking (which I had never done before), felting (which I had also never done before), pleating, ruffling, & gathering.

The gingerbread was made for my friend, Steph, who's Christmas-obsessed. The smocked bag was made for my young cousin, Ellie, who is just full of personality. The "Adopted By Christ" bag was made from a sketch I drew in Thursday night service at Compassion Christian Church. The ruffly bag was made completely with scraps, with the lining being a t-shirt.
