this bag was the first one of the collection that i thought of. the blue floral patch is a tea towel from a local antique store in savannah, the granny squares are crocheted from scrap acrylic/cotton yarns, and the denim patch is a scrap piece i had originally made for an reupholstered stool.

all materials used are 100% recycled. the straps are waistbands from old denim jeans, the inner lining is scrap cotton fabric, and the outside it scrap cotton canvas fabric. this little tote bag is ready for anything!
 
completed for my AMERICAN PIE COLLECTION for my SCAD FIBR 345 class, this bag was made as part of a collection of 5 bags to reminisce over a lost time in American culture, thinking back to the days of don mcleand song “american pie” which reminds me of my childhood in the truck with my dad going fishing with my great grandad or taking the trash off to the dump in his truck and stopping at the gas station to get a root beer in a glass bottle.
